The fastest 6 months of my life...

Well, as most of you already know, Cody and I celebrated Manning's "1/2" birthday last Saturday. Cody had been gone to Michigan for a whole week for work. That was such a sad time in the Moore household. With Daddy gone, Manning really threw some fits. He knew something wasn't right, so he wouldn't sleep. That made me miss Cody even more than I already did. We are so happy he's back. Anyway, let me get back on track here... Cody texted me from Michigan on Friday to suggest that we make May 22 a celebration day to mark Manning's 6 month bday. I jumped at the chance and was so proud of him for suggesting such a fun idea. We love Manning so much, and we celebrate him every chance we get.
We woke up Saturday morning and got ready for Manning's big day. We took him to Babies 'R Us and Gymboree and shopped and shopped. We had such a fabulous time looking for the perfect gifts. I think Cody had more fun than Manning. Every time I turned around, he had a new toy playing with it. Most of the toys were way too old for Manning, so I had to keep pushing him in the direction of the 6-12 month areas. After a couple of hours in the store and several mind changes on what to buy (we tried to buy a big crab sandbox, but it wouldn't fit in the car), we picked out some really great stuff for our little man. On the way home, we stopped at a grocery store and picked up an Elmo cake. Yes, I said a cake! Call us crazy, but we decided to go all out. Laugh if you like. We know we're silly, but we made so many great memories, and Manning loved it! It was a perfect "1/2" Birthday celebration.

After the party, Cody put up our new lil' swimming pool that Dee-Dee bought for Manning. We let him take a dip in it, and he seemed to love it. We're getting him ready for our big beach trip coming up. We leave Sunday, and we can't wait!!! Sun, sand, seafood...Florida, here we come!

My 1st Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day (a little late) to all of you wonderful mothers out there! I had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day thanks to my sweet boys. I thank God so much for them! I am blessed to have a very kind & loving husband and a perfect, precious little boy, whom I love more than life itself. Thank you, Lord, for your many blessings!
Well, let's see, my Mother's Day weekend started off on a fun note. Friday night was Relay for Life, which is a very special event to me and my family. We have lost several loved ones to cancer, so we enjoy supporting this wonderful event. Cody has even joined in on the effort and had a little too much fun with it this year. Sorry, babe, but I have to do this. My hubs, "Codylicious", dressed up as a woman for Relay this year. Every company had a man to represent them in the acting audition. They had to dress up, and get this... they had to act out a scene from Legally Blonde.... Oh, it gets better. They played the part of Elle. LOL! I loved every second of it. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Let's just say a good time was had by all, including Cody, whether or not he wants to admit it. He was a great sport for a more than worthy cause! I'm glad to say that he isn't a very pretty woman! ;o)

Saturday morning, Cody whisked me away to Nashville for a big mother's day surprise... He got me a brand new SUV! I love love love it. Then, after hours at the card dealership, he took me to a jewelry store and hooked me up with some more Pandora charms for my bracelet. Have I mentioned that he's the BEST?!
My mother's day weekend continued to get even better... Sunday, at church, was Manning's dedication service. It was the best day of all and was a very emotional one for me. We carried our precious miracle to the front of the church and prayed that God would watch over him, and we vowed as parents to raise him the way the Lord wants us to. It was a fabulous service. I kept wanting to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I am finally a mom, and it truly feels great. I've dreamed of becoming a mother and celebrating Mother's Day my whole life, and God has given me that precious gift. Thank you, Lord!

Missed me?

Manning's Easter with Cody's family

Well, I am still alive for all of you who have been wondering! We have just been crazy busy here lately. Let's see... We've been to Columbia, MS to visit Cody's fam, made another trip to the pediatrician (viral sore throat), been on several shopping adventures, and have been loving being Manning's parents. Everything we do these days revolves around him, and it's FABULOUS! Life is just so much sweeter now that he's around. The word thankful doesn't even begin to cover it!
Trip to see the doctor

For those of you who know me very well, you know how sentimental I am about making memories and documenting them. My latest hobby has been making photobooks on mypublisher.com. I started making them when Cody and I got married. I usually make one for every year of our marriage, but since Manning, I've been making one every 2 months or so. It's so fun, and it's a great way to keep up with milestones and neat facts about our little guy that we want to remember forever.

Mommy world is great.... teaching world, not so much! My students have completely gone haywire since we only have 4 weeks of school left. I have had to deal with way too much drama these days... I get tickled because when my students see me coming to break up an argument, they say "drama free, we know!". That's my new motto at work because I've had to break up way too many fights here lately. UGH! I'm literally counting down the days until summer vacation (which means a new job for me). Girdley Flying Service, here I come!
my 2 favorite boys

Mother's Day is right around the corner, and I'm so excited about celebrating my very first Mother's Day as a mom. I can't wait to see what Cody has up his sleeve as far as my surprise goes. I'll have to get back to you on that one. I hope all of you mothers out there have a wonderful day and celebrate the precious little ones that God has blessed you with. I know I sure will!
